Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about finding artists and growing your beauty business on Zulaa.
Finding Your Artist
01What is Zulaa?
Zulaa is a curated directory of local beauty artists. Instead of scrolling through Instagram hashtags or asking friends for referrals, you search by city and service type to find verified professionals in seconds — then connect with them directly. No middleman, no platform fees.
02How do I find a beauty artist near me?
Go to the Browse page and type your city, neighborhood, or service into the search bar — for example, "Atlanta lashes" or "nails Miami." You can also filter by category (Lashes, Nails, Permanent Makeup, Hair, Med Spa) and sort alphabetically or by newest. Click any profile to see their full portfolio and contact links.
03Is Zulaa free for clients?
Yes. Browsing artist profiles, viewing portfolios, and clicking through to an artist's booking page is completely free. You don't even need an account to search — just visit the site and start exploring.
04Can I book an appointment through Zulaa?
In-app booking is coming soon. Right now, each artist profile links directly to their existing booking page — Vagaro, StyleSeat, Square, or their personal website — so you book with the artist directly using whatever system they already use. No Zulaa account required.
05What beauty services can I find on Zulaa?
Currently we feature five categories: Lashes, Nails, Permanent Makeup (including microblading and lip blushing), Hair, and Med Spa (including facials and injectables). We add new categories as our artist community grows, so check back regularly.
06Are the artists on Zulaa vetted?
Every claimed profile is created and managed by the artist themselves — they own their listing. Each artist receives a unique, permanent Zulaa Artist ID (format: ZL-XXXXX). Unclaimed profiles are sourced from public business records and clearly labeled "Unclaimed Profile" until the artist takes ownership. We recommend always reviewing an artist's portfolio and social profiles before booking.
07Can I leave a review for an artist?
Client reviews are in our roadmap and coming soon. In the meantime, you can check the artist's Instagram, TikTok, or Google Business profile for reviews and social proof. We'll notify you when Zulaa reviews launch.
08What if there are no artists listed in my city yet?
Our artist community is growing every week. If your city is light on listings, try broadening your search to a nearby metro area. You can also share Zulaa with artists you love — they can create a free profile anytime at zulaa.io/signup. The more artists that join, the better it gets for everyone.
Growing Your Business
01How do I get listed on Zulaa?
Sign up at zulaa.io/signup, choose "Join as Artist," and complete your profile during onboarding. Add your bio, service categories, location, portfolio photos, and your booking and social links. The whole process takes under 10 minutes and your profile is live immediately.
02How much does it cost to list my services?
Creating and maintaining a Zulaa profile is completely free. We do not charge subscription fees, listing fees, or commissions. Zulaa connects clients directly to your existing booking page — we never touch your earnings.
03What is a Zulaa Artist ID?
Your Zulaa Artist ID (format: ZL-XXXXX) is a unique, permanent identifier assigned to your profile when you join. Unlike your username — which you can change — your Artist ID never changes. Clients can find you using this ID directly, even if you update your username or move cities. Think of it as your permanent professional address on Zulaa.
04I already see a profile with my business name — how do I claim it?
Unclaimed profiles are sourced from public business records. If you see your business listed, click "Claim This Profile" on the listing page and create a free artist account. Once verified, the profile will be transferred to your ownership and you can update all the information, add your portfolio, and take full control.
05What can I include on my Zulaa profile?
Your profile can include: a professional bio (up to 300 characters), up to 9 portfolio photos, up to 5 service categories, your service area (city or region), an Instagram link, a TikTok link, a personal website link, and a direct booking link (Vagaro, StyleSeat, Square, etc.). Your profile also automatically displays your Zulaa Artist ID and your unique zulaa.io/artists/yourname URL.
06Does Zulaa take a commission on my bookings?
Never. Zulaa drives clients to your existing booking platform — we don't process payments or take a cut. You keep 100% of what you earn. Our business model is built around growing the platform, not taxing your success.
07How do new clients find my profile?
Clients discover you in three ways: searching on Zulaa by city and service, clicking your shareable profile link (zulaa.io/artists/yourname) that you share on social media or in your bio, and via Google — your profile page is indexed by search engines, so you can appear in results like "lash artist Atlanta" even for people who've never heard of Zulaa.
08Can I manage bookings directly from my Zulaa dashboard?
In-dashboard booking management is on our roadmap. Right now, your dashboard shows profile views and link clicks so you can see how many clients are discovering you. You link to your existing booking platform and we drive clients there. Full booking, scheduling, and payment features are coming — stay tuned.
